Paul is a qualified tax accountant and fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of England & Wales (FCA) with over 20 years post-qualification experience.Since qualifying, he has spent over 15 years in front office tax structuring/corporate M&A roles at major investment banks. He has advised on and structured UK, US European, Asian and Latam tax matters, this includes high value M&A deals, renewable energy investments and complex restructures spanning a broad range of clients and taxes.

Sam has more than 15 years’ experience in the insurance market, the majority of which has focused on corporate and transactional work. Sam previously worked as Corporate Counsel for a Lloyd’s syndicate.Prior to this, Sam spent 4 years in private practice in the corporate and insurance business sector and 6 years working in-house for a reinsurance company focusing on SEC regulatory advice, corporate finance and corporate governance.

Naomi is a senior corporate lawyer, admitted as a solicitor in England and Wales in 2002.  She has underwritten transaction liability insurance risks since 2015.  Naomi has worked across a number of jurisdictions, with particular focus on the US market, where she has assisted clients in a broad range of industry sectors. Prior to joining Themis, Naomi worked as senior transaction liability underwriter, following a successful career in-house and in private practice at several pre-eminent law firms, including the magic circle.

Chad is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and Senior Underwriter within our US tax team.  Chad gained extensive M&A tax experience in both the Houston and London offices of a ‘Big 4’, as well as the Dallas office of investment bank. He has experience in a wide array of transaction tax services, including buy and sell-side tax due diligence, troubled company restructuring services, and post-close tax structuring/integration.

Gabriella joined Themis as Senior Underwriter and Head of Nordics in June 2023. Prior to joining, Gabriella spent 5 years at one of the ‘Big 4’ in their Sweden Legal Advisory team, advising Private Equity and Corporate clients to structure and close complex transactions across industries. Whilst there, she also spent almost 10 months on secondment as a legal consultant in the Private Capital Transaction Team in Luxembourg. Gabriella works across our W&I international book, with a particular focus on the Nordic and Benelux markets.

Before joining the insurance market, James worked at an international law firm and is a qualified solicitor.

Her experience covers a variety of US tax issues including reporting and advisory services for large private equity, financial services, and real estate firms on inbound and outbound investments.

Her qualifications as an Austrian lawyer (non-practicing) and a solicitor of England and Wales ensures Martina brings a diverse legal background to her role. Before joining Themis, Martina acquired extensive experience as an M&A and Capital Markets lawyer in prominent European and US law firms. Her expertise includes advising corporate and private equity clients, as well as financial institutions, in structuring and successfully closing intricate transactions across industries.

Rosie joined Themis as an International Tax Underwriter. She is a qualified accountant (ACA) and has worked in UK and International Corporate Tax Advisory since 2014. Rosie qualified and worked at one of the ‘Big 4’ in their London M&A Tax team where she advised Private Equity and Corporate clients in mid-market to high value transactions, including share/asset acquisitions, IPO's, public to private transactions and restructurings. Rosie also spent two years on secondment in Barcelona, where she provided both International and Spanish tax advice on M&A transactions.
